Chris Hardie is Principal and Design Director at Danish studio Schmidt Hammer Lassen and global design firm Perkins&Will, founding Partner of SHL’s Shanghai studio in 2010, and member of the Perkins&Will Board of Directors.
As Design Director he leads the work of the combined practice in Asia, responsible for Shanghai’s new Shanghai Library East, Ningbo New Library, Beijing Performing Arts Center, Shanghai West Bund Grand Theatre, NIO House West Lake, and the world’s largest waste to energy power plant, known as the Energy Ring, in Shenzhen.
Chris is a Honorary Professor of Architecture at The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture at The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, UK, and a Distinguished Professor of Design at the Zhengzhou Institute of Finance and Economics – School of Art & Design in Henan, China.
