Georges Laimé, MSc
Since 2022, Georges Laimé has been working as a Policy Analyst in the Water Governance, Blue and Circular Economy Unit at the Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions & Cities in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
Within the Unit, he conducts extensive research and analysis on water governance at a moment when megatrends such as a growing global population, rapid urbanisation, and climate change are increasingly exposing cities, regions and basins to the risks of “too much”, “too little” or “too polluted” water as well as challenges related to “poor quality or lack of access to safe drinking water and sanitation”. Recently, he led the publication of the Handbook of What Works: Solutions for the local implementation of the OECD Principles on Water Governance launched at the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia. This Handbook illustrates how cities, regions and basins have designed and implemented effective, efficient and inclusive water governance systems while discussing common pitfalls to be avoided when designing and implementing water policies for sustainable urban development.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in applied economics from the IAE Lyon School of Management and a master’s degree in environmental economics from Paris-Saclay University.
